Bricks Are Heavy by L7 (Review)

Definitely an album every rock fan should own.
Bricks Are Heavy - L7

Having previously only seen L7 in the film Serial Mom, I was slightly hesitant at what to expect. I had heard all about the tampon “incident” and seen the flashing, but I wanted to know the music behind it. As soon as “Wargasm” kicks the album off, you get the sense you could really like this band, with pounding, grinding guitars and humorous lyrics.

People who are more heavier orientated will prefer the slow burners such as “Scrap,” and “Mr. Integrity,” but “Shitlist” is anthemic and the “Everglade” tracks riots on in true Riot Grrl style. Definitely an album every rock fan should own.
