It’s been nearly three years since I redesigned The Grand, a blog run by the gal who eventually became my wife and her roommates. In the ensuing three years, a lot changed — the biggest being that I’ve become only Renae’s roommate (for now, anyways) — and so it was time to remake The Grand.

Gone is the ethereal, perpetually wintry imagery. In its place is something a little warmer and more solid. The layout is one that I’ve had on my hard drive for at least a year now, but I could never quite find a use for it. At one point, I thought about using it for Opus. However, as soon as Renae saw it, she wanted it for The Grand. And the more I thought about it, the more it made sense for her website rather than mine.

I’m especially pleased with the blue and brown color scheme. It was a nice break from the subdued colors that I normally find myself returning to time and again. And whenever I look at it, I think of our house, the real life Grand. The brown tones remind me of lovely hardwood floors and gorgeous woodwork on windowsills and railings.

This is actually the first bit of some exciting Web-related news for the Moreheads. More should be surfacing soon, so stay tuned.

BTW, the little guy you see there in the screenshot above is Owen James Choi, who was recently born to our good friends Karen and Joe. Congratulations and many blessings to the new family!
