Superelectronic…

Strange as it may seem, I’m actually not a huge fan of Flash design. While it certainly makes for great eye candy, much of it is gratuitous and derivative (just look at all of the 2Advanced clones in existence). That being said, this Flash installation by Sonja Peng, entitled “Superelectronic”, is by turns beautiful, bizarre, whimsical, and frightening, and altogether utterly compelling. The opening screens are especially haunting, with their combination of surreal imagery (I love the floating, shimmering fish), cryptic poetry, and eerie music. (Note: Requires Macromedia Flash — Duh! — and a pretty decent connection… or some patience.)
