New Subscriber Playlist: “A Return to Summers Past”

Subscribers can listen to a collection of songs that take me back to a very specific summertime era.

Summer is my least favorite season, but it comes with its own sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of more carefree days filled with late nights, long roadtrips, and so much music. This month’s playlist — titled “A Return to Summers Past” — highlights some of my favorite songs from those days, when lazy nights and late mornings were all we knew, and music was all-pervasive.

Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my“Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special and meaningful. In this episode, I discuss “In the Course Of,” a lovely bit of shimmering post-rock by South.

Both of these are little bonuses for subscribers who support Opus financially. If you’d like to get access to them (and more), subscribe to Opus for $5/month or $50/year. (Also, if you just want to check it out, you can subscribe for free and get weekend reading recommendations.)
