Animatrix, part 1

If you’ve got a fast connection (or some time to kill), the first episode of The Animatrix is now available for download. Titled “The Second Renaissance, Part 1,” it details the history of The Matrix, with the fall of humanity and the machine’s rise to power. The animation is topnotch, with direction by Mahiro Maeda, and the film does present some interesting, if disturbing aspects to the origins of The Matrix.
