The 2006 TIFF Line-up Is Here!
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) just announced the complete film line-up for this year’s festival — all 352 of them. There are plenty of gems throughout the listing, but here are a few that I’m particularly excited about (those in bold are films that I’m really excited about):

- American Hardcore
- Babel
- The Banquet
- The Book Of Revelation
- Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
- The Bothersome Man
- Cashback
- Dong
- Election 1+2
- Exiled
- The Fall
- The Fountain
- Hana
- The Host
- Hula Girls
- I Am The Other Woman
- Invisible Waves
- Jade Warrior
- King And The Clown
- Lake Of Fire
- Lights In The Dusk
- Office Tigers
- Pan’s Labyrinth
- The Pervert’s Guide To Cinema
- Princess
- Renaissance
- Rescue Dawn
- Seraphim Falls
- Strike
- Takva — A Man’s Fear of God
- Thicker Than Water
- Time
- When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts
- The Wind That Shakes The Barley
Many of the films listed above are films that I’ve been waiting to see for almost a year now. Others are films that I’ve picked solely on the strength of the director, even though I know next to nothing about the film itself (for example, Jia Zhiangke’s Dong). And others are films that I just have a gut feeling about, even though I could be very wrong.
The list is, of course, far from comprehensive. I’m sure that other films will edge some of these out when I find out a bit more about them. But whatever happens, I think it’s safe to say that I will be getting precious little sleep for the week and a half that I’m in Toronto. And I can’t wait.
