My first impression of Soviet’s sound was a mixture of Depeche Mode and Devo.

Randy Rose is definitely trying for some edgy, dark sound with this record, but never really reaches it.

I sense that Goodnight Star tried a bit too hard to create an album with a predetermined sound.

Jon Sonnenberg and Robert Gutschow’s latest is fuller-sounding than its predecessor, but still contains a few inessential bits.

This strikes me as a full-length that would have been a better EP had more judicious editing been used.
