Everything Is Alive by Slowdive (Review)
The pairing of introspective lyrics and evolved sonics leads to a quality of reflection that’s unique in Slowdive’s catalog.
Formed by Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell in 1989, Slowdive would become one of the shoegaze scene’s shining lights thanks to albums like Just for a Day and Souvlaki. After disbanding in 1995, Halstead and Goswell formed the more folk/country-tinged Mojave 3. Slowdive reunited in 2014 and released a new self-titled full-length in 2017 to widespread acclaim. Their latest album, Everything Is Alive, was released in 2023.
