Woven Hand ventures onto the The Threshing Floor

Wovenhand's David Eugene Edwards

Woven Hand — one of the most arresting and captivating American musical outfits currently recording as far as I’m concerned — will be releasing their fifth studio album, The Threshing Floor, later this year. The album will be released on Glitterhouse in Europe and Sounds Familyre here in the U.S.

I haven’t been able to find any clips or singles from the album yet, but I assume that it will feature David Eugene Edward’s howling voice, lots of thunderous percussion, eerie atmospherics, and given the album title, plenty of Biblical sturm und drang.

In the meantime, head over to Glitterhouse’s MySpace page and listen to Woven Hand’s cover of New Order’s “Truth.” The pairing might seem a little odd at first, but Woven Hand’s cover is faithful to the original while still showcasing their inimitable brand of otherworldly gothic Americana rock.
