Hot on the heels of Roadside Monument’s recent reunion, bassist Johnathon Ford has announced a new album from his band Unwed Sailor. Mute the Charm is described a “pop rock record” that revels in influences ranging from The Sundays and Joy Division to Led Zeppelin.
The first single, “Windy City Charm,” is now available on YouTube. Inspired by Ford’s life in Chicago during the late ’90s and early ’00s, “Windy City Charm” features Ford’s rock-solid bass line accompanied by chiming guitars and airy synths that unfold over several movements.
Mute the Charm will be released by Spartan Records on February 10, 2023 as a CD, a digital download, and various vinyl editions.
