When Marlin Perkins Punched a Journalist

This is my new favorite factoid… Marlin Perkins, the famous host of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, was being interviewed in 1982 by a journalist named Bob McKeown for the CBC. McKeown asked him if Wild Kingdom had ever faked footage a la Disney’s White Wilderness. Perkins, who was nearly 80 at the time, asked McKeown to turn off the camera and then punched him in the face.
