TIFF

It’s official: I’ll be spending next week in Toronto attending the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival. In a way, this was one of the reasons why I didn’t go to Cornerstone this year. I knew I didn’t have enough vacation time for both fests, and I wanted to experience something new this year. As soon as I heard about the film festival from Chris, and read his reviews, I knew this was what I wanted to do. After all, I’ll be A.) getting out of Nebraska, B.) visiting a very cool city (or so I’ve heard), and C.) watching movies that I’ll probably never have a chance to see in theatres otherwise. How could I not be interested?!?

Needless to say, I’m tickled pink at the prospect of attending my first film festival, and an international one at that. I’ve been going through the film schedule and putting together a rough itinerary while trying to suppress my schoolgirl-like giggling (without much success, I might add), and it’s shaping up quite nicely.

Sadly, I won’t be able to see “Ong-Bak Muay Thai Warrior”, but I am looking forward to “The Tesseract”, “Jeux D’Enfants”, “The Grudge”, and “Purple Butterfly”, among others.

Before I leave, though, I’ll be posting a huge update full of reviews and other goodies. I’ve had some problems with the apartment’s wireless network (stupid lack of Mac support), but they should be straightened out this week. Stay tuned…
