Sundays with Kenshin

So far, it’s been a real good Sunday. Woke up early and went to the early service at Lincoln Berean, a church that has been home, more or less, for the past 8 years or so. I’ve been attending a different church for the past few months, however, mainly because I felt it was necessary for a change of pace. Not theologically, of course, but in worship and atmosphere.

Lincoln Berean is such a huge church that I often felt lost in the crowd, especially since I had left the college group and was unsure as to where I wanted to go next in the church. Anyhoo, it was nice to come back and see a familiar face or two, catch up with an old acquaintance, etc.

Afterwards, it was back home to enjoy the 3rd disc of Rurouni Kenshin, an anime series that I’ve completely fallen for. Like His and Her Circumstances (another personal fave), I love Kenshin’s ability to mix moving melodrama with hilarious slapstick, and the characters just continue to grow deeper and more interesting with each passing episode. The only downside? There’s only 4 episodes per DVD, and they’re over before I know it. At this rate, I might as well plunk down the coin and get the entire series (all 22 DVDs)!
