Still Waiting

Not having a computer of my own sucks… but it’s also kind of nice knowing that I’m not going to be staring at its screen until 2 or 3 in the morning. It allows me to work on other things, like making it through books that I should’ve finished years ago or CDs that should’ve been reviewed by now.

Here are a few random bits to keep the website somewhat updated until real can be added.

It’s always nice when you get a new toy, especially one that opens up a whole new world of movies for you. No more regional coding for me, suckas!!!

Some cool music news…

Word ’round the campfire is that Lift To Experience is heading into the studio this winter to start working on their followup to The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads. Unfortunately, their fall tour with Elbow got cancelled. A real pity… I was hoping to see them in Lawrence with The Elevator Division.

There’s some more info on the upcoming album from Sigur Ros, including a real tracklisting (since all of the songs on the album will be untitled).

And on the Burnt Toast Vinyl tip… the new Denison Witmer comes out September 24. And Ester Drang recently recorded 4 new songs for an upcoming BTV release.

And there’s also plenty of cool movie news…

Apparently, the theatrical release of Shaolin Soccer might not be as bad as previously thought. That’s a huge relief, because I really want to see this on the big screen with a bunch of my friends.

My friend Chris (whose contributions to the site are always welcome) will be attending the Toronto Film Festival this year, and I wish I was there with him. Just check out some of the movies they’re showing… Spirited Away, Dolls, Alive, The Eye, and Shaolin Soccer. And plenty more where that came from. It’s just not fair. Anyone have a cheap plane ticket to Toronto that they can spare?
