Bark Psychosis’ Hex is the greatest album you’ve never heard.

Here’s an interesting article on scientists’ efforts to figure out how “religious” experiences occur within the brain. But, as one theologian points out, they only seem to be focusing on the “positive” experiences associated with faith; wholeness, peace, freedom from fear, etc.

I wonder how Kierkegaard would respond to that? Or Saint John Of The Cross? I wonder what results the scientists would get if they were to hook up their electrodes to someone who is struggling with their faith, someone who is wrestling, like Jacob, to make sense their beliefs, someone who, despite their devoutness, is suffering. Because you’ll find faith and “religious experiences” there as much, if not more so, than anywhere.
