Sigh… They’re Remaking The Killer

Sigh… Twitch’s Kurt is right. There are three Asian films that should never be remade: OldBoy, Battle Royale, and The Killer. And wouldn’t you know it, all three have been floating around development hell for years no, with The Killer slowly moving ahead.

John H. Lee is set to direct, with original director John Woo and his producing partner Terrance Chang set to produce. Even so, this has me very worried. And no, the success of The Departed — a remake of another Asian film, Infernal Affairs — doesn’t have me too comforted simply because I thought The Departed was a vastly overrated film and not a terribly good remake.
