Ronald of Orange
Ronnie Martin (Joy Electric, The Brothers Martin) has a new project called Ronald of Orange. An EP is due out in January 2009, but you can hear the first single — “Brush Away the Cobwebs” — on his MySpace page. Given Martin’s inimitable voice, it sounds a lot like Joy Electric, but with a much wider array of instrumentation and arrangement. FWIW, I’m reminded of some of the more whimsical Cure songs à la Japanese Whispers or The Top.
