I don’t suppose it’d be right to go without saying something about… well… you know what.

In some ways, I’m still as mixed up about the whole affair as when I heard about the first plane, a co-worker mentioning it as we walked into the office together. Unsure how to respond or feel.

Naturally, I feel great sadness and anxiety, loss driven home as I looked again at pictures that are now, sadly, a part of our national consciousness. I think part of me will always be amazed and shocked at those images, at how surreal they seem… scenes that belong more in a movie than real life.

There are other things that I want to say, but maybe it’s just best to be quiet and think about things first. In the meantime, may God help us all… because I don’t think we’re doing a very good job.
