“Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” by She & Him

So, there’s this movie coming out titled 500 Days Of Summer that stars Zooey Deschanel and has yet another one of those eclectic, hipster-friendly soundtracks. Among the songs, which include numbers from Regina Spektor, Doves, Hall & Oates, and Feist, is this cover of The Smiths’ classic “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” by She & Him, Deschanel’s collaboration with M. Ward.

She & Him’s version is suitably dreamy, but just for the record, I prefer The Autumns’ version.
