Marianas’ CD comes out today. It’s titled Onward + Upward and it’s really solid stuff in a similar vein as Fridge, Hood, Notwist, and even Sigur Rós. I know they’ve put in a lot of time and effort, so muchos kudos to Aaron, Aaron, and Ryan. They’re playing in my basement this Friday with Mr. 1986, so if you’re in the neighborhood, do stop by.

Amidst all of the stress and anxiety that comes with following the war, I decided to take some time and prep the basement for the show (clear out boxes, set up lights, etc.), just to get my mind off of things for awhile. Needless to say, it helped quite a bit. This Friday, I’ll get to hear some great music, hang out with some friends I haven’t seen in a long time, and maybe even enjoy a slice and pint at the fabled Yia-Yia’s. If that’s not a cure for anxiety, I don’t know what is.
