I’m no sports fan, but I know enough to know that most of the world defines “football” as something entirely different than what takes place down the street from my house at Memorial Stadium in the fall. And that when it comes to big sporting spectacles, few events rival the World Cup, which is due to take place in South Africa in just under a month (thank you, Wikipedia).
However, I do know music, especially the music of Richard Adams, who has founded Hood and The Declining Winter, two of our favorite bands here at Opus HQ. And Adams has recorded his own official theme for the 2010 World Cup. It’ll be released as a limited edition three-song CD single by Home Assembly Music in time for the event, and they’ve already released an excerpt, which you can listen to below.
