Nothing Is Pure Anymore But Solitude

I finally got around to picking up Frengers, Mew’s 2003 full-length. While not as solid as And The Glass Handed Kites, one of my fave albums of 2006, it still boasts a number of great songs such as “Am I Wry? No” and “Snow Brigade.”

The album’s highlight, though, is the nearly nine-minute closer, “Comforting Sounds.” The band closed their recent Lincoln concert with it, and the thunderous performance left the venue absolutely shaken.

“Comforting Sounds” performed live for Yahoo! Music.
