No C-stone

It looks like I won’t be attending this year’s Cornerstone Festival, which will be the first time I haven’t gone to the fest in 8 years. There’s just too much going on around that time of year, and I only have so much vacation time. On top of that, I think I’ve worn myself out over the past 2 – 3 years. Each year, I ran myself ragged trying to set up interviews, attend concerts, take photos, and basically be everywhere at once. I need to take a break and try something new, something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile.

And so I’m tentatively planning to attend this year’s Toronto International Film Festival in September. Last year’s fest was packed with great movies (click here to read a few reviews), and I’m pretty stoked to see what this year’s fest offers.

I know I’ll be back, because the festival is a great thing, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I’m going to be missing out on some good things this year (such as the films they’ll be showing at this year’s Flickerings and Imaginarium), but I think it’s time to do something else for a change.

It’s all still really up in the air, and who knows? I might find myself driving through that Bushnell cornfield come June 29th. But it doesn’t look that way for the time being.
