New Subscriber Playlist: “Within the Sound in Silence”

Subscribers can listen to a collection of songs that spotlights the eclectic sounds found within Sound in Silence’s catalog.
Sound In Silence Releases

Athens-based Sound In Silence has carved out a nice little niche for itself as a boutique label specializing in small runs from an eclectic assortment of artists that includes Bvdub, The Declining Winter, Endless Melancholy, The Green Kingdom, and many more. This month’s playlist — titled “Within the Sound in Silence” — highlights some of my favorite songs from the Greek label.

Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my“Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special, interesting, and/or meaningful. In this episode, I discuss “Haze,” a beautifully chaotic song from the Tokyo-based [.que], aka, composer Nao Kakimoto.

Both of these are little bonuses for subscribers who support Opus financially. If you’d like to get access to them (and more), subscribe to Opus for $5/month or $50/year. (Also, if you just want to check it out, you can subscribe for free and get weekend reading recommendations.)
