New Subscriber Playlist: “We Could Walk Together”

Fall is my favorite time of year, so naturally I’m looking for music to help enhance the autumnal mood, and few bands do that as well as The Clientele. For over two decades, the band has built up a remarkably consistent discography chock full of hazy, dreamy, mope-y tunes that go perfectly with chillier air, earlier evenings, and grayer skies.
This month’s subscriber playlist, titled “We Could Walk Together,” features nearly 90 minutes of some of my favorite songs from across The Clientele’s considerable discography, from their earliest EPs to their most recent singles.
Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my“Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special and meaningful. In this latest breakdown, I talk about“Bicycles,” from The Clientele’s A Fading Summer EP.
Both of these are little bonuses for subscribers who support Opus financially. If you’d like to get access to them (and more), subscribe to Opus for $5/month or $50/year. (Also, if you just want to check it out, you can subscribe for free and get weekend reading recommendations.)
