New Subscriber Playlist: “A Farewell to Summer”

Now that we’re in August, the end of summer is at hand. Which means fewer vacation opportunities, preparations for the upcoming school year, and so on. So for my latest subscriber playlist, titled “A Farewell to Summer,” I thought I’d try and put together a smooth mix of jams that are the ideal soundtrack for just hanging out, for setting a mood that’s great for hot days at the pool, lazy nights on the patio, and everything in-between.
Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my “Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special and meaningful. In this episode, I talk about “Plastic Love,” the city pop classic from Mariya Takeuchi’s 1984 album Variety.
