Under The Radar reported earlier this month that My Bloody Valentine (yes, that My Bloody Valentine) has been recording new material in Berlin. The new material consists of 5 songs from the “Glider” sessions which the band is re-recording, and not a new album proper. The band plans to re-release “Glider” as a full-length album in conjunction with an MBV boxset that’s coming out later this year.

Of course, this is My Bloody Valentine, who have been surrounded by rumors ever since they released “Loveless” back in 1991. Rumors that whole albums have been scrapped, that tapes were destroyed in crack-induced rages, that Kevin Shields was frittering away his time doing remixes… okay, so maybe that last one has some element of truth to it. Needless to say, I’m skeptical. But if this does indeed turn out to be true…
