Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to watch any of Netflix’s relaunch of the classic Mystery Science Theater 3000 series yet. But a YouTube clip featuring one of my favorite pop culture artifacts riffing on another one of my favorite pop culture artifacts? There’s no way I’m not immediately watching this.
The new voices take some getting used to, but the delightfully skewed humor is still in abundance, and more importantly, it’s still funny. The “fat screen TV” joke? The “Folgers Coffee” riff? That line about yoga? They all had me giggling just like the old days of Joel and Mike.
As for the new Netflix series, io9’s Rob Bricken calls it “the Perfect Pop Culture Revival.”
