Mosquito

I know I’ve been harping on Firefly and Serenity for quite some time now. Renae and I have been watching the series with the Tredways and one of her roommates, and much fun has been had by all. Even though I’ve seen some of these episodes 3 or 4 times, I still find them intriguing, enjoyable, and hilarious. (Until now, the only other series that could really, truly hold that honor were The Simpsons and M*A*S*H, so that right there should tell you about the quality of Firefly.)

Anyhoo, my coworker showed me this earlier today. It’s a fan parody of Firefly/Serenity titled Mosquito. Right now, the site’s basically a placeholder, but there is a minute-long teaser that’s worth a chuckle or two.

I love the Star Wars reference with the Mal character, as well as the little hair toss moment from the Kaylee-esque character (who actually has more than a passing resemblance to Kaylee). And of course, there are the lyrics — “They’re airin’ baseball yet again/We might not make to episode 10.”

You know you’ve truly arrived when the fans start making their own parodies.
