Monday Blahs

One of the problems I’ve run into with recommending so many Asian DVDs is that they’re not playable on many DVD players, due to regional coding. Sure, you can buy a region-free DVD player (which I’d recommend anyways), but not everyone wants to drop down 200 – 300 dollars. However, one title is now available for all of us here in Region 1. Il Mare has just been released here in America; it’s a great movie and a good introduction into the wonderful world of Korean film.

Lars, being the beautiful man that he is, just put the finishing touches on the Roadside Monument website. As an added bonus, you can download a bootleg of the band’s amazing performance at Cornerstone ’02.

The new issue of AnimeFringe is online. This time around, they cover Ai Yori Aoshi, Japanese rock bands, snotty anime fans, and much more. As always, the writing is solid and worth reading if you have even a passing interest in anime.
