Lush Return With New ‘Out of Control’ Single, Music Video

Lush sounds like they haven’t aged a day, much less two decades.
Lush 2016

Back in September of 2015, I wrote that Lush was joining the ranks of their fellow shoegazers in Slowdive, Ride, and Swervedriver, and were reuniting after a too-long absence to play some shows and record some new music. Jump ahead to the present, and Lush have announced a new EP titled Blind Spot that will be released in April. They’re released the first single from Blind Spot, titled “Out of Control,” along with an enigmatic video.

Now, maybe it’s just due to swirly, ephemeral nature of the shoegaze genre itself, but Lush sounds like they haven’t aged a day, much less two decades. Miki Berenyi and Emma Anderson’s harmonies are as effortless and flawless as ever, and you’d never mistake the song’s melodies and guitar shimmer for any other band.

And so, the shoegaze revival continues on unabated and undimmed by the passage of time.
