Jonathan Inc.

I’ve been meaning to post this (along with many other things) for several days now. I was remarking to a friend of mine that I’ve been inundated with an unusually sizable amount of great music in the past few weeks. Unfortunately, the past two weeks have been insanely busy and I’ve been unable to catch up. This weekend promises to be a bit more relaxed, so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up.

Near the top of the “To Be Reviewed” pile is Jonathan Inc.s Things Done And Left Undone, which is just about some of the best pop I’ve heard in a long time, chock full of heart-tugging hooks, lush melodies, and shimmering arrangements (imagine, if you will, a more orchestrated and musically ambitious version of Pedro The Lion). The band recently completed the first leg of their Canadian tour, and is getting ready to head back out next week with A Northern Chorus (whose Spirit Flags has been in pretty constant rotation over the past week or so).

The tourdates are…

  • June 16 — Regina — Easy Alibi
  • June 17 — Calgary — Broken City
  • June 18 — Calgary
  • June 19 — Vancouver — Railway Club

In the meantime, check out the band’s website or Paste Music for more info, including a couple of MP3s.

And hopefully, I’ll have a couple of reviews available this weekend.
