“It’s Alright” by Life on Venus

The Russian shoegazers’ latest single was recorded in quarantine.

Russian shoegazers Life on Venus have just released their latest single, a quarantine-recorded tune titled “It’s Alright.” It builds on the lovely, gloomy shoegaze textures of 2019’s excellent Odes to the Void, but with slightly cleaner production. And lyrically, it’s more uplifting as well, as vocalists Dmitry Kostryukov and Alina Heiremans breathily sing “And if you’re lonely/You shouldn’t hide/I will be there by your side” against a shimmering sonic backdrop that would make Neil Halstead proud.

Life on Venus are one of the highlights in the current crop of Russian shoegazers, and this latest single is more evidence of why.
