It’s all about the music

This just in from the “Here We Go Again” office… Metallica has battled Napster, Victoria’s Secret, and French perfume makers, but this may be their deadliest foe yet. 2 years ago, an automotive company had the gall to make a wheel cover called, you guessed it, “The Metallica.” Even though the product is no longer being sold, the band wants them to recall all of the covers, or face a lawsuit. Apparently, the company is “trying to usurp the market,” now that Metallica is expanding into automotive products.

Perhaps Metallica’s lawyer sums it up best: “It’s just a matter of a company having the right to protect its name.” So that’s what they are… and here I thought they were just a crappy band.
