How were you browsing in 2001?

According to Microsoft’s Dean Hachamovitch, IE6 was easily the best browser available in 2001. He’s partially right. It could be argued that the best browser available in 2001 was indeed a version of Internet Explorer… Internet Explorer 5 Macintosh Edition, that is, which was released on March 27, 2000. IE5 Mac is no longer being supported by Microsoft, but it was a godsend in its day, being the first major browser with decent Web standards support, PNG support, etc.
