Hopefully Soon

Well, the saga of my computer continues…

Two weeks ago, I took my iMac in to get my Ethernet port fixed. However, the ethernet is located on the iMac’s motherboard, which basically means a new motherboard. When I took it in, I also mentioned a problem with my iMac’s display, which caused it to flicker at higher resolutions. However, I can live with that. All I really wanted was my Internet connection back.

Well, two weeks later, I finally get a call from them. My display issue is fixed, but somehow, the ethernet problem slipped by unnoticed, despite it being the whole reason I took the iMac in. So now, I have to wait at least 1 – 2 more days for them to get the motherboard and replace it. Add that to the snafus that have already taken place, and it’s been a good time.

Now, this sucks enough, especially since I have a ton of site-related e-mail that I can’t easily respond to. And the only way I can easily do updates right now is to steal my roommates’ computers for a time (like now). However, I also happen to be going on vacation next week, and all of the addresses of people I planned to visit are on my computer. I didn’t think to write them down, since I was assured it would only take a few days to do repairs. As a result, I’m trying to figure out how my trip out east will be affected.

Suffice to say, if you’ve e-mailed me in the past 2 – 3 weeks, I’m not trying to ignore you. I simply can’t respond until I get my computer back… which at this rate, might not be for awhile.

On the plus side, I’ve been putting the downtime to good use developing my Halo skills.
