As if getting to see one epic film — The Return of the King — this year wasn’t enough, New Line plans to re-release The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers into theaters two weeks before the final Lord of the Rings movie. But get this — the version they’ll re-release will be the extended versions, not the original theatrical versions.

My friends and I had planned on watching the extended DVDs of the first two movies before heading off to see Return of the King, but this is waaaaay cooler.
