Heroes and Eyes

I meant to post some of this earlier, but you know how it goes… MonkeyPeaches recently posted some gorgeous photos from Hero, Zhang Yimou’s martial arts epic featuring Jet Li, Tony Leung, and Maggie Cheung, to name a few.

You’ll need to scroll down a bit, but they’re worth the visit. Especially the one of Cheung and Zhang Ziyi dukin’ it out.

Also, the trailer for The Eye is available for download (thanks to AICN for the link). If you haven’t heard about it, “The Eye” is a horror movie that’s been gaining quite a bit of acclaim around the world. The trailer looks a bit like “The Sixth Sense” (she sees dead people and stuff), but it definitely has its own unique look and feel… and promises a decent “spooky” factor. What else would you expect from the guys who did Bangkok Dangerous?

I have a copy coming in the mail, but I probably won’t get it reviewed until after I return from vacation. On a sidenote, Tom Cruise recently bought the rights to The Eye and plans to remake it. Further proof that there aren’t any original ideas left in Hollywood? You decide…
