“Heaven’s on Fire” by The Radio Dept.

On April 21, Labrador will be releasing Clinging to a Scheme, The Radio Dept.s long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s Pet Grief — which is just part of a wave of amazing Swedish pop that also includes Sambassadeur and Club 8 that the label will be unleashing upon us in the coming months.

Today, Labrador has graced us with another single from Clinging to a Scheme. Titled “Heaven’s on Fire,” it continues the trend that I heard in the previously released “David,” specifically a move from an obviously 80’s inspired shoegazer/new-wave sound towards a breezier electro-pop reminiscent of Saint Etienne. Which is not a bad thing in my mind, not at all.

You can listen to “Heaven’s on Fire” — which just happens to be a perfect way to kick off a Tuesday morning — right here.
