Going to Bed Now

Just put up a new movie review before hitting the sack.

Remember my earlier post about The Hearing Aide? Well, Grant’s been putting up new content, starting with an interview with a couple of members from my band, A Dim Halo. I didn’t know George was such a pottymouth.

Normally, I wouldn’t give people like this the time of day, but… I’ve seen some pretty horrible material on the Web. The freedom of the Web is a beautiful thing, and opens up avenues for expression that wouldn’t be able exist otherwise. It also opens up the floodgates for some pretty heinous garbage that would normally be unthinkable in any sane society. I can think of no better example than this site. Don’t worry… you won’t find any porn. It’s much worse… pure, unbridled hate wrapped up in a flimsy theology and propaganda.

I have to confess that stuff like this boggles my mind… not the hatred itself, mind you, but the mindset that gives birth to it. If you were to ask me why I even bothered to go to this site, since the domain name gives a fairly accurate indicator of what it’s about, I couldn’t tell you why. Maybe it’s useful to know your enemy, maybe it’s curiosity, or maybe it’s out of hope that there’s something rational behind it all. I’ll let you know when I find out why.
