What a nice way to start the new year: Quebec-based Handful of Snowdrops have kicked off 2020 with a brand new single. For my money, Handful of Snowdrops is one of the best synthpop/darkwave grounds around, and “The Four Winds” is a perfect example of why thanks to its pulsing synths, urgent dance rhythms, ghostly guitars, and haunting vocals.
The single’s b-sides include a lovely instrumental piece titled “Tall Sails” and a remix of “The Four Winds” that ups the discothèque factor by a few degrees.
