Elsewhere, 3/1 (Like a Lion)

March has arrived in Lincoln, roaring for all it’s worth, and Madame Opus has the blustery proof.

After nearly a decade, ChristianityToday’s Film Forum — a weekly roundup of film reviews from various Christian critics — is wrapping up and moving to Looking Closer. Jeffrey Overstreet has posted some thoughts about Film Forum’s passing.

I would’ve totally missed this if not for my wife’s sharp eyes: a new trailer for Danny Boyle’s upcoming sci-fi flick, Sunshine.

Psshh… it’s not like you have anything better to do on this snowy afternoon, so here’s another trailer, courtesy of Twitch: Ex Machina, the sequel to Appleseed (my review).

Now this is very shiny… a special two-disc release of Serenity — the movie follow-up to one of the best shows to ever grace the boob tube — will be released in July 2007. According Joss Whedon, the disc will be packed with extras, as well as a new cover (thank God). My review of Serenity is here.

I’m sure that most serious RSS consumers swear by Newsfire — at least on the Mac side of the fence — but I’ve always dug Vienna. Sure, it’s not as flashy or pretty as Newsfire, but it gets the job done, and it’s free. And I have to say, my Vienna is looking even prettier thanks to BrokenLogic’s FeedLight Aqua style.
