How did I miss this? The Verve are back together and recording a new album!

Joy Electric has just released Their Variables, which contains remixes of every song on The Otherly Opus plus two new tracks. You can listen to one of the new tracks (“Like Fools”) as well as two of the remixes on Joy Electric’s MySpace page.

Convenience Wins, Hubris Loses: “But now, eight years later, Amazon’s finally done what was clearly the right solution in 1999. Music in the format that people actually want it in, with a Web-based experience that’s simple and works with any device. I bought tracks from Amazon (Kevin Drew and No Age), downloaded them, sync’d them to my new iPod Nano, and had them playing in my home audio system (Control 4) in less than five minutes. PRAISE JESUS. It only took 8 years.”

Apple has announced that their iTunes Plus catalog — which offers two million tracks that don’t have the standard iTunes DRM — has lowered its price from $1.29 to $0.99 per track. I can’t help but wonder if the appearance of AmazonMP3 was a factor in this decision.

If you’ve downloaded Radiohead’s In Rainbows, and are looking for some album artwork, you can find the official artwork here. However, there’s plenty of fan-made artwork floating around, as well (this one is my favorite, so far). If you don’t have In Rainbows yet, you really should get it — it’s quite good.

Looking for some good Swedish psych-rock, other than Dungen? I recommend The Spacious Mind. I’m seriously trancing out on “Rider Of The Woodlands” right now.

Apple’s OS X 10.5 “Leopard” will officially go on sale Friday, October 26th at 6pm. You can preorder your copy via the Apple Store. Via

Azure Flame Reloaded has put together a list of “Sixty Anime You Might Not Have Seen, But Probably Should”. You can read part one here and part two here.

Tom Osborne has been named UNL’s interim athletic director, which would explain the statewide orgasm that I felt earlier. I’m the last one to follow Cornhusker football news, but the last few days have been rather tumultuous, haven’t they?
