Do Make Say Think

Now that I’m older, I’m less interested in making it out to every single concert that comes down the pipe. Sure, back in the day, I’d hit a couple of shows a week, but I guess I just can’t keep up with the kids anymore. And besides, some of us have to work in the morning.

That being said, there are still a handful of bands that I wish to see in concert, and Do Make Say Think is right near the top of the list. Unfortunately, the band rarely makes it below the Canadian border, but Pitchfork just reported that the band is planning a North American tour. Unfortunately, the closest show is probably Chicago — and it’s smack dab in the middle of the week. Oh well… sometimes you’ve got to make sacrifices for the rock.

If you haven’t heard Do Make Say Think, I highly recommend picking up their albums, especially & Yet & Yet and Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn. Although the band usually seems to be overshadowed by the more apocalyptic-minded labelmates in Godspeed You Black Emperor!, DMST is easily the Constellation Record’s most consistent, intriguing, and underrated band.
