Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is Shaping Up Nicely

I don’t pay as much attention to movie rumors as I once did, but there are some movies that I can’t help but follow, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is one of them. First, Villeneuve has already delivered two excellent sci-fi movies — 2016’s Arrival and 2017’s Blade Runner 2049 — so I have high hopes for his next one. Second, it’s an adaptation of one of sci-fi’s landmark works. And finally, it’s shaping up to have an excellent cast that includes Timothée Chalamet (as Paul Atreides), Oscar Isaac (as Duke Leto Atreides), Rebecca Ferguson (as Lady Jessica), Zendaya (as Chani), Javier Bardem (as Stilgar), and Dave Bautista (as Rabban).

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune adaptation will actually be split into two movies, with the first one entering production this year.
