I just checked out Aaron’s blog, which is usually interesting reading material in and of itself. However, this time there’s something of special note. The recording for the long-awaited Marianas album is finally complete. I’m looking forward to the album and think it will bring something really new and interesting to the Lincoln scene (almost like adimhalo a few years back).

I watched the uncut version Police Story III (or Supercop as it’s known here in the States) last night. I was really struck by how edited and goofy the American version is compared to the original. The original is a bit darker and grittier, with whole scenes that were removed from the American version. I guess it’s sort of hard to reconcile the happy-go-lucky Jackie Chan with scenes involving dead prostitutes and cocaine-stuffed corpses. Supercop, on the other hand, was just this fun little action romp, which is good and all, but it feels like a totally different movie.

A little Opus update… I’m working on a bit of a redesign for the entire site. I’m not really happy with how the frontpage layout turned out; I wasn’t really thinking when I did it. And I want to rework the internal pages to better complement the new frontpage design. I’m not sure when I’ll get it done. These things always take me the longest time.
