“Closer” by The Clientele
The Clientele’s latest single is a fundraiser for Black Lives Matter.
The Clientele, arguably the finest purveyors of woozy, dreamy British pop that you’re ever likely to hear, have released a new single. Titled “Closer,” it’s a cover of a song written by Mick Head for Shack’s 2006 album The Corner of Miles and Gil. And though being a cover, The Clientele make the song their own via their trademark dreamy vocals, weepy guitars, and elegant arrangements.
“Closer” is currently available for $1 on Bandcamp; all proceeds go to Black Lives Matter.
