Behold the W(i)MP
Microsoft is working on a new graphics format called (natch) Windows Media Photo (aka “WiMP”) that promises better compression, smaller file sizes, etc. It’s being developed by the same folks that did Windows Media Video and Audio — and we all know just how awesome those formats are. WIMP will be supported by Vista, which means we’ll get to start playing with it in December… no, January… no, February… well, some time next(?) year.
