Back From the Weekend

It’s 11:30pm, and if I stare at this computer any longer, my second wind is going to kick in with a vengeance. And that means I won’t be able to get to sleep until at least 2:00am. Normally, that’s not a big deal, but I do have to work in the morning.

But before I lay me down to sleep, here’s the latest shiz-nit. The Labor Day Movie Marathon has come and gone. Not quite as massive as past events, but I didn’t really want to kill myself this year. Still, 9 movies in 3 days is respectable, I guess. I am pissed, however, that my used O Brother, Where Art Thou? DVD is scratched to high heaven.

Reviews of the new Bjork and Charity Empressa CDs have been added, with more on the way (as always). On the Cornerstone 2001 tip, you’ll find new photos from Phil Troop (who looks quite smashing in his Opus t-shirt) and an interview with the one and only Ester Drang.

Burnt Toast Vinyl’s website is sporting a spiffy new design. Check it out, and while you’re at it, spend some of your hard-earned dough on a new CD or two. C’mon… you deserve it.

Those punks at IGN got a sneak peek of the new Vampire Hunter D movie. I can’t wait for this to come to the theatres.

And speaking of movies, Christianity Today’s Film Forum is quickly becoming one of my favorite film-related sites. Want to know why? Just check out their thought-provoking discussions on movie violence, language, and sex.
