Monkess the Homunculus celebrates friendship and adventure and the entire mystery of life.
Monkess the Homunculus

If you’ve ever spent any time on Christ and Pop Culture, then you’ve probably seen the illustrations of one Seth T. Hahne. (If you haven’t, here’s an example, and another example.) In addition to creating gorgeous artwork for Christ and Pop Culture, Hahne is also a graphic novelist, and he’s launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of his latest graphic novel, Monkess the Homunculus.

Monkess the Homunculus is a children’s graphic novel/picture book aimed at ages 3 – 8, though adults seem to resonate with the story as well. Monkess celebrates friendship and adventure and the entire mystery of life.

This is the story of a little girl homunculus who was made over a century ago in a scientific installation on a small island in the South Pacific. Monkess is buoyant and adventurous and loves her experience of life and engages it with gusto.

Hahne has finished writing and drawing the story — you can watch it in its entirety below — but is looking to cover the printing costs of the book. He’s hoping to raise $7,250 by May 31.
